In the new sequel Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (which hit theaters Sept. 24) Josh Brolin plays a stone-faced hedge fund manager who will stop at nothing to make money. But if his wife Diane Lane had been on set, the actor might not have been able to pull off the serious role.
Brolin, 42, tells iVillage exclusively that he and Lane could never make a movie together. "Both of us have absolutely decided that that wouldn't work," he says, smiling. "I think we would just laugh the whole time. I think we'd cost the studio a lot of money that they don't want to spend."
Clearly the couple, who tied the knot in 2004, knows how to have fun together. But Brolin says the biggest challenge in having a relationship with another actor is being apart for long periods for work. "But we don't allow a certain amount of time to go by without seeing each other," he explains. "So if I'm in New York for two weeks, she'll come and see me. It makes for more interesting trips."
